Providing valuable products to our customers since 1910
The origins of CAM date to 1910 when the first DC motors repair machines were designed in Hanover, PA for the Peerless product line. These products included undercutters, banding devices, handling equipment and the Segur taping machines. The customers were the repair shops servicing the new DC motor technology. The Peerless line went through several owners including Electric Service Manufacturing Co (Philadelphia), Mummert-Dixon Co, and finally became part of CAM Innovation in 1965. At that time CAM's other Division were:
• Keystone Aerial Ladder (approximately 1935) -- wooden aerial ladders for low over-head work
These two lines have been discontinued.
The Peerless Division has had many notable achievements over the years. These include the first automatic undercutter (DS approximately 1952), first optical sensor on an undercutter (MDU approximately 1973), and patented Brush Deburring process. The line continues to expand with the truly unique CUX lathe mounted, Automatic Undercutter.
In 1995 we expanded our taping machine line to include machines designed for the wire harness and cable markets. This builds on our many years of experience manufacturing thousands of taping machines. We are building a family of handheld and bench-top models to save time, improve quality and be easier for the operator to use.
Since we have a skilled machine shop and assembly staff, we offer sub-contract work to interested customers. We make machine parts and assemble machines to the customer's prints.
As another part of our services to the industry, we offer consulting engineering to plan and equip complete electric motor shops. We develop new work methods, specify and/or provide machines, supervise the installation of the machines, and train the operators. We have had assignments in the US, Turkey, Korea and other countries.
Starting in 1973, CAM made a strong commitment to clients outside of the U.S. Now over half of our bussiness each year is outside North America. We have received the Presidential "E" and "E Star" awards for excellence in exporting. Our agents around the world assist and support our customers in other countries.
